Albert Hammond Jr - "GFC"

A new Strokes album? Don't count on it anytime soon. Its not that anyone is in hiding. Julian Casablancas is perfectly comfortable dancing around with Santogold and Pharell for Converse. When it comes to recording music with his actual band, Casablanceas is a bit m.i.a. Thankfully, Strokes' guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. is filling the void with his second solo record Como Te Llama. "GFC" recalls the Strokes, but also early eighties radio friendly post punk of Graham Parker and Elvis Costello. Hammond is carving his own terrain and frankly cooking up more interesting sounds than what we last heard from the Strokes.
