Twilight Singers live "Live With Me"/"Where Did You Sleep Last Night"

Mark Lanegan joins the Twilight Singers in this clip for a pair of covers. "Live With Me" is a Massive Attack song - the original version featured on the band's recent compilation. "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" is a classic Leadbelly tune that Lanegan also recorded for his solo debut, The Winding Sheet, in 1990. Incidentally, Kurt Cobain sang and played guitar on that cover, while Krist Noveselic played bass. Nirvana then covered the tune during their legendary Unplugged set.

I think the Twilight Singers may have gotten me out of my music rut!

Wow, I absolutely loved that!! It made me shiver. I always loved "Where Did You Sleep...", as a matter of fact I thought it was a Long John Baldry song and even bet my son and lost a dollar!!

I'm going to favorite this and play it for him - he'll probably love it as much as I do. Thanks, I agree with Allison on the music rut thing....maybe I could take a copy to the Sushi bar! Again, wow, really, my kind of stuff. I'm going to play it again now - really grabbed me.

Great stuff!
But I still say not a patch on kurts.
Kurts rendition of WDYSLN is along with the Pixies Where is my mind my all time fave song.

I have to go check the twighlight singers out right now!

I'm glad to be leading people in the Twilight Singers direction. They have been probably my favorite band this year.

I will agree Pixie, that the Nirvana version is hard to top - I certainly get chills every time I hear it.
