I don't know Will. Is it suppoosed to be funny ? Or maybe sexy (with the climaxing cans) ? I don't get it.

It must have been a very surreal meeting in the ad agency when they decided to pimp out a can of diet pepsi. Also an interesting decision to imply a gender to the can of soda...

How could a commercial with Jay Mohr and Diddy go so badly wrong?

I sat next to Jay Mohr on a plane. He wasn't as big of an idiot as I thought he might be. Plus he had Nikki Cox with him which is always a plus.

HIP HOP IS OFFICIALLY DEAD NOW..

1) Brown and bubbly? who came up with that? That sounds, um, gross.

2) That can is 1000 x better actor than P Doody

3) You tube has commercials? Ok, I don't need tv, at all any more. Just my blog pals and you tube.

4) Are the backup artists real singers, because they are all terrible

Ben raises a good point- Does the can relate to gender? LAME

I love, love, love, that ads get stupider all the time.

Wow. This is causing quite the discussion. I love it. It would be interesting to sit next to Jay Mohr on a plane - if only to say you sat next to Jay Mohr. I sued to like him, but after Last Comic Standing, I came to find his scrreen presence rather annoying.

As for the commercial. Who knows what they were thinking? It's odd that the can is male, and even stranger that the female backup singers look at it with sexual longing (Hillary says - soda can = phallus). I think it's supposed to be funny, but it did not make me laugh, and I love Diddy. I think it comes down to the fact that Mohr goes with the material - if the material is good, he is good; if the material is crap, he is crap. And Diddy is really great at being Diddy, but not great at playing Diddy. Some tool of a director was probably like "act like yourself," so he tried too hard, doing an impression of what he's seen himself doing.

Rubbish!

I wonder if Diddy or the diet pepsi can produced the song?

Sorry if I was a little strong, I should have said that brown and bubbly, Mohr, and P tried their level best to kill Hip hop here.

Diddy or the soda can? Well, there's no sampling - to the best of my knowledge, so I'm guessing it was the soda can.

Jacquie - that's cool. I feel like hip hop has died a few times.
