New MP3, Video From Tigers Can Bite You

Not so long ago, we announced the signing of Tigers Can Bite You from Los Angeles. TCBY (as they are affectionately abbreviated) made their debut in late 2006, opening for Silversun Pickups, and haven't looked back since. They've built a loyal following in the Silverlake scene, sharing the stage with the Watson Twins, Earlimart, the Airborne Toxic Event, the Happy Hollows, Irving and several others.

Since signing TCBY, we've been making preparations for two exciting 2008 releases. The band will release the Taking and Running Away EP this summer, with a debut full length to follow in September.

To give you a taste of what's to come, we're offering a free download of "Rough Stuff" which won't appear on either release.

We are also pleased to present the band's first video, which was compiled and edited by frontman Dave Woody. It reminds me of a Bruce Conner film. The song is called "Estimates" and will appear on the aforementioned EP.

The Passionistas and Viral Video

Myles Cooper of the Passionistas has a full page column in this week's San Francisco Bay Guardian entitled "Shirtless on YouTube: Crocker vs. Cooper." In it, he discusses, among other things, various Passionistas attempts at viral video, as well as his fascination with YouTube star, Chris Crocker. Read it here.

Passionistas bassist and crowd favorite, Andrew Lux, has a Television Personalities cover band called All the Young Children on Crack, which also features former Passionista Tim Hellman. The band played their first show last Friday at the Edinburgh Castle in San Francisco. Sadly, I missed out, but hopefully there are more on the horizon. If you, too, missed out - Myles caught some video, including this performance of "Picture of Dorian Grey" ...
