Ivie - the resident N&UR cat - recently celebrated her 12th birthday! She received a new scratching post and a catnip toy. Happy Birthday, girl.

Cute Baby Cat Picture

This is Scout as a baby. How cute is that? I think we just had the "awwww" heard round the world. This picture comes to us courtesy of Danica, a close friend of the N&UR staff. In fact, it was Danica who helped me load 6 cases of God's Boat into her car back in 2007 and then drove them over to the N&UR offices. Thanks Danica! I recently engaged in a bit of New and Used Records-related market research, and I stumbled upon one fact which was a real revelation. Frankly, readers think there are just too many music-centric blogs out there already. Aside from the major titans (Stereogum, Gorilla vs. Bear, Brooklyn Vegan), most go unnoticed. I guess readers have enough music blogs on their Google Readers as it is. That being said, while people can get enough music writing, they apparently cannot get enough cute pictures of cats. Thus, I've decided to make this a music/cute cat picture blog.Thanks to Renner for these wonderful shots and to Ivie for being such a great subject.
