This Saturday, record stores nationwide will be collectively participating in Record Store Day, a day of recognition for the independent record stores still fighting the good fight. A number of artists and independent labels have come through with limited edition record store day exclusives (read about a number of them at Pitchfork), while several artists will be performing in-stores and DJ sets.
Amoeba Records in San Francisco will have DJ sets from Kylee of Loquat (2PM), Kelley Stoltz (3PM), John Vanderslice (4PM), and Aesop Rock (5PM). Yoni Wolf of Why? will DJ at Amoeba Berkeley at 4PM. Amoeba Hollywood will feature DJ sets from Wendy & Lisa (1PM) and DJ Babu (5PM).
Silversun Pickups will be performing live at Rasputin in Berkeley at 4. The newly opened Origami Vinyl in Echo Park will have live music - bands to be announced shortly.
Be sure and check out what your local record store is doing to mark the occasion!
