Run Dan Run are a Charleston-based band whom I discovered through my friends over at We Like It.Indie. While the band doesn't appear to be hitting up the West Coast in the near future, I'm still enjoying their new EP, 27 Coming St. a good deal. The 5-song acoustic EP was recorded in a member's living room, giving it an intimate feel. At the same time, there is a lushness to the accompanying piano and drums. Listening to opener "Wasted Love," I hear just a hint of Stephen Malkmus mixed with a little more Tom McRae; there is both a warmth and a sadness to these songs. Overall, Run Dan Run seem like kind, happy people - they do give lessons in piano, drums and guitar for their days jobs. The EP can be picked up at Hearts + Plugs before it is available at digital retailers.MP3 - "Wasted Love" - Run Dan Run
