João Brasil - Brazil's Girl Talk

The Music Alliance Pact is a union of 22 blogs from 22 countries, including I Guess I'm Floating (US), Swedesplease (Sweden) and Indieful Rok (Korea). Every month, a new mix is posted featuring one song chosen by each blog. These mixes are a great way to discover new music you would not otherwise hear - much of it is not even available in the US. One awesome discovery has been Brazilian mashup artist João Brasil. Brazilian blog Meio Desligado selected Brasil's "Orgasmadance" for the Februray edition of the Music Alliance Pact. Similar to the work of Girl Talk, "Orgasmadance" is a party jam built around a smattering of samples. The diverse selection of samples includes C+C Music Factory, Michael Jackson, J.U.S.T.I.C.E., the Offspring, and Nirvana. The song is from Brasil's debut, Big Forbidden Dance, which you can sample at his MySpace.

Another approach to music discovery is 'social music recommendation' based on the psychological perception of music.
Our new service Music Patterns provides customized playlists based on music that 'People Like You' actually listen to.

Using a psychology-based approach to music preferences , this method combines your individual preferences with identifying those that are similar to your 'music personality.'

This new form of social music recommendation was developed from years of research in this area by best selling author Dr. Dan Levitin and our team at Signal Patterns.
