Idle Hands! Does No One Remember

Lest we forget.

In Idaho, "A man who believed he bore the 'mark of the beast' used a circular saw to cut off one hand, then he cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said." According to the AP Story, "'It had been somewhat cooked by the time the deputy arrived,' sheriff's Capt. Ben Wolfinger said. 'He put a tourniquet on his arm before, so he didn't bleed to death. That kind of mental illness is just sad.'"

That's not the alarming part, though. What's alarming is that the article makes no reference to Idle Hands, the 1999 films where Devon Sawa's hand does bear the mark of the beast and he cuts it off. For the whole production team behind Idle Hands, not getting a mention in this story has got to be a pretty seriously blow to ego.

But someone does seem to remember this film.

The Gutter Twins - the highly anticipated collaboration between Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli - have posted their first song. The track is called ... "Idle Hands" ... and you can stream it at their MySpace.

Thanks for the tip! I've been dying to get a sneak listen of this.

Bizarre story, isn't it?
