Health Improving

That little mental/physical bug that bit me the other day seems to be lessening. Yesterday, though, it totally killed my motivation and I ended up spending the evening in bed flipping between American Idol and Dr. Phil. I watched more of Inland Empire, too, but it got just a little intense for me. Today, I am back to hustling for the label, sending out more emails, and finding as many hot LA bands on MySpace as I possibly can. I've totally re-done my personal MySpace to represent my label president/band manager side, so please do drop me a friend request.

I am so excited about tonight's Passionistas show. It is so awesome to be opening for Pansy Division, and I think this is just going to open up our fanbase that much more. Plus, I expect the venue to be packed and it is under those kind of circumstances that I really feel the Passionistas rise to the occasion. The Passionistas are kind of the opposite of Alex Rodriguez - when the pressure's on, they thrive. When they need to impress, they do. So tonight, I expect everything to be turned up a notch. Plus, I plan to really work the crowd and make some CD sales - so look out.

Passionista pals Port O'Brien are the featured band this week on The Bay Bridged. Give it a listen. Hopefully Port and the Passionistas will be teaming up on a show in the near future.

So, in my LA research, I came across this band, Venus Infers - not to be confused with the Venus in Furs of Velvet Goldmine. Click over to their MySpace to hear the fabulous tune, "London's Raining" - for fans of Interpol and the Walkmen.

Lastly, I didn't realize until recently, that "Going Gay" was featured on The Catbirdseat's October mix. The Catbirdseat is one of my favorite music blogs, and they also happen to be big fans of Kelley Stoltz. Last week they posted Stoltz's new single, "Your Reverie," which happens to be fabulous.

If you're in SF, I really hope to see you tonight.

So glad you're feeling better. That sounds like a great show, and I hope it's packed.
