“My manners were the first ingredient that set me apart from my peers.”
Fonzworth Bentley was once known primarily as a man who held umbrellas over the head of Diddy. Since leaving his post as Sean Combs's personal assistant, Bentley has been seeking to make a name for himself - on his own terms. Whether it be music video cameos, television appearances and leaked songs from his forthcoming Kanye West-produced album, Bentley certainly marches to the beat of his own drummer. Not in any hippie kind of way, though.
Bentley dresses with the flare of Gary Cooper and prides himself on his manners, while defining our current era as "The Golden Age of Disrespect." His new self-help guide Advance Your Swagger: How to Use Manners, Confidence, and Style to Get Ahead comes equipped with jacket quotes from the likes of Cameron Diaz, Andre 3000 and Russell Simmons. Among the tips included - the art of 'please' and 'thank you,' cell phone, text messaging and email etiquette, as well as job interview advice. Certainly one for the coffee table, and one I will be taking notes from.

How refreshing! And rather sad that I find manners to be refreshing.
