- THIS CONSISTS OF THE NEW ALBUM, IN RAINBOWS, ON CD AND ON 2 X 12 INCH HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL RECORDS. A SECOND, ENHANCED CD CONTAINS MORE NEW SONGS, ALONG WITH DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS AND ARTWORK. THE DISCBOX ALSO INCLUDES ARTWORK AND LYRIC BOOKLETS. ALL ARE ENCASED IN A HARDBACK BOOK AND SLIPCASE.
Call this another nail in the record industry's coffin with one of its biggest artists taking control into their own hands, and putting out a project on their terms. Furthermore, given that the last official word had this album coming out sometime next year, the band seems to have intentionally given themselves little time for a presale buzz. It's as if the band has used all of the anticipation on the part of its fans and the media as its own marketing tool. Clever, guys.
On the flipside, this is just a smart band taking advantage of capitalism. Something tells me I just may be forking over the "40 quid" for the box. What's that make the cost in dollars? On a more positive financial note, I picked up Diddy's Press Play at Amoeba last week for $1.99.

$81.00. And I ordered mine last night. You get two cds and two vinyls as well, along with pictures. Sure it's a lot of money, but you know we'll pay.
Damn, Barb beat me too it. Every price I see here, I just double it. Although our dollar is worth more than yours now...so I'd say $85 ;)
I think its a great idea. I won't be shelling out the money, but the downloading is definitely a step in the right direction.
wow
Now I hear you can set your own price for the download?
