I've been dealing with a sore throat over the past week, so that has limited my abilities just a little bit. While seeking physical distribution, I have also been trying to get God's Boat in as many stores as possible, starting with all of the best independents in California. The latest store to pick up the record is Mod Lang in El Cerrito. Aquarius Records also recently posted a review in their latest New Arrivals List. For the time being, our physical distribution entails phone calls and emails to the record stores. It is kind of nice to have that personal connection with the store, even if it takes a little extra work.
On Saturday I met up with Myles, as well as Teddy from the Music Lovers. Teddy's one of those people whose opinion I take very seriously, not to mention the fact that I learn a good deal from each one of our conversations. Hopefully soon, I'll be shooting the Music Lovers for the first in a new video podcast series I'm hoping to launch.
Speaking of video podcasts, I've been finding minutes here and there to work on the new episode - entitled "The CD Release Party." The best part of that process has been re-watching the live footage of that night and reminding myself of all the excitement. It seems like so much has changed since then so it's nice to be reminded of all the goods and the bads surrounding that event - helps to give one perspective.
Oh, and last, the Passionistas have so, so much going on in San Francisco right now - they're really taking over the city. On Thursday, they rock the Edinburgh Castle alongside Cryptacize and High School; that is followed by three club nights - Club Lady at Kimo's (9/19), Club TransAm at Eight Nightclub (10/6), and Club Smile at the Knockout (10/19). I think there's even more happening after that.
