Good Weekend

So, last week we did a massive college radio mailing. It took three separate trips to the post office to get everything sent out, but we did out, and soon I will be following up with program directors to see if we can get a little airtime.

Friday night, Hillary and I were walking home from dinner and spotted karaoke night at our local Filipino coffee shop. The place was empty, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to fine tune our karaoke chops. I first tackled "Wild Wild West" which moved at a much faster pace than I recalled. I fared much better with "Dancing in the Dark," which I'd always wanted to karaoke. "With or Without You" proved extra challenging, and I couldn't hear myself, so finally I understood what it was like to be Ashlee Simpson.

The following day, I interviewed Tim for the upcoming episode of The Passionistas and later that evening we got our geek on at a screening/sing-along of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical. In other Buffy-related news, I finally managed to read the latest issue of the comic. On Sunday, my brother and I hit up Amoeba Records and I was pleasantly surprised with the store's hip hop clearance sale, which included a number of tempting mixtapes. I eventually settled on this intriguing Kanye West/Andre 3000 one entitled You're All Welcome, and actually turned out to be a bit disappointing. I may return, when I can no longer resist the temptation to purchase Diddy's entire catalog at $1.99 a piece. I also picked up the new Nellie McKay for good measure.

I would say that weekend sums up my life pretty well in a nutshell.

Yay! A new episode.

Sounds like a good weekend. Did you do the jig at the end of the song too? ;)

Nothing like a little drive-by karaoke! Well played.
