Most Digitally Engaged Label and the Bonds/Benham Connection

I've been making some serious strides this week in my effort to make New and Used Records the most digitally engaged (or internet savvy) record label on the planet. I've been seriously working on the Fuzz page - reposting blogs, making new friends, and even getting involved in some interesting discussions about the state of popular music in new music. I've also been updating my Mog page, and seeking out other music sites, setting up profiles and plotting further moves.

Yesterday was, as you probably know, my 25th birthday, and wouldn't you know it, Barry Bonds (who wears the number 25 on his uniform) hit his 756th career home run to set a new major league record ... a fine way to cap off a birthday if you ask me. I've actually been doing a bit of research about Bonds for a long essay in which I will argue that he is the postmodern man - or at least the postmodern athlete. Come to think of it, he may be the post-postmodern man. Hmmm ... well, regardless of which, I don't plan to let it distract from my very important label duties.

While that is a cool coincidence (or is it?) about Barry Bonds breaking that record on your birthday, I wonder if most people are recognizing it as truly deserved, with the steroid controversy. Although I guess that's part of what makes him post post-modern.
