It's pretty hard to believe the CD release party is just one day away. I woke up this morning and my throat was absolutely killing me. I recall this same thing happening before the N&UR Presents show back in February. Oh, well, I'm sure the cup of coffee I'm drinking right now will help. That, or the pure excitement of the show will cure me of any minor ailment. There were a couple matters stressing me early in the week - for instance, would I get the CDs on time, would the album show up on iTunes, and can all the Passionistas make their 10:30 set time? Well, not all issues have been resolved, but the stress has left my mind and a real sense of excitement has set in. I've been putting a lot of thought into this evening but - while this is our "coming out party" if you will - it is certainly just the beginning of what we're about to do.
The band commented the other day, "Will, you don't talk enough about how retarded your band is. I think we need to emphasize that we're like, a little silly and ridiculous. Then again, maybe we do that well enough on our own." But I don't really see myself as the guy who has to keep them in line and shield myself from their embarrassment of their antics. This documentary project isn't Dig Part 2, so even if the Passionistas can be a little "silly and ridiculous" (like, the "Y2K" homemade music video), I feel like I can always run with it. I try and let the Passionistas be the Passionistas and whatever that means is what I have to work with. It tends not to keep me up at night. The sore throat - on the otherhand - is another story.

You don't talk enough about how retarded the band is? Now there's a complaint I'll bet most record label presidents don't hear on a regular basis. At least they haven't yet made any weird demands on their riders. Or maybe they have!
Get yourself a big old salt water gargle and get better for the big night tomorrow.
