CD's, Editing, Podcasts

The Passionistas have been selected for a really exciting promotional opportunity - the details of which will be revealed very soon. My main goal right now is getting God's Boat in stores around the Bay Area. Over the weekend, I printed up big ol' "Produced by Kelley Stoltz" stickers and slapped them on the CD, before heading over to Amoeba Records. To my absolute surprise, they took ten copies and have even put the record on display right near the counter. I actually have yet to see its placement, however Aaron tells me it's good. Looks like the CD will also be carried at Aquarius in San Francisco, as well as the Berkley Amoeba. Other than that, I just need to keep the promo wheel spinning for our exciting Bay Area summer shows, while also getting the album out to national press.

I'm also in the process of editing episodes four and five of the video series - "four" is particularly challenging as it pulls the most footage that I've used for an episode yet. This episode is mostly about me and what lead me to signing the Passionistas and starting New and Used Records. Last weekend, I shot interviews with both my girlfriend and my brother. "Five" will focus on the label and everything surrounding the CD Release Party and the release of God's Boat.

I've been wanting to launch a new, label-related audio podcast for some time, but all these other tasks have prevented me thus far. On the subject of audio podcasts, the fabulous Bay Bridged podcasters will be dropping their first compilation CD next month. It features tracks from the Dodos, Love is Chemicals and the Dont's - among others - with the latter two bands performing at the CD Release Party happening Friday, July 13 at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. Read more about it here.

You are turning into quite a savvy promoter. Good job, you!

If you are looking to the future you might want to consider this up and coming indie music festival for next June to see if it would be a good fit:
