Passionistas in SF Chronicle; Web Stress

Today, something fantastic happened, while something else started to stress me out.

My mom called me this morning to say that the label had been mentioned in the San Francisco Chronicle. I rushed to get my hands on a copy and found that "Going Gay" was the 'Download of the Week' in Bill Picture's "Pop Beat" column, which runs every Sunday. The nice little paragraph reads ...

Download of the Week: "Going Gay" by the Passionistas, a recent Deli Magazine "Band of the Month." On June 8 at Cafe Du Nord, the local three-piece (sometimes a four-piece) is celebrating the release of its debut album, "God's Boat," on the just-launched S.F. imprint New and Used Records. Sharing the bill with The Passionistas is Sub Pop alumnus Kelley Stoltz, who produced "God's Boat." Download "Going Gay" at www.myspace.com/thepassionistas. (You can read the entire column here).

This is the first bit of press we've received since I sent out the press kits, so I was - needless to say - pretty excited. It was pretty cool, too, that my mom got to find out before I did. I think she was impressed, as well.

The website is starting to stress me out a little - though not for any particular reason. That is one aspect of things that I haven't had complete technical control over, so I found myself getting worried as to how much I would be able to do on my own. Initially, I wanted to have a blog on the site, but I've set this one up for now just to make things easier on myself. The site is looking good though and will be simple, yet a great representation of the label, and linking to all necessary information. I'll just be real happy when it's completed.
