On the Other Side of the Camera

A forthcoming episode of the video podcast series will go into a little more detail about me - going back to some of the themes introduced in the first episode. Myles and Aaron dropped by the N&UR office yesterday to interview me for this first episode, and it was interesting to be on the other side of the interview for the first time in quite a while. We ended up going through two DV tapes, discussing my childhood, what lead me to N&UR, and my thoughts on God's Boat. I haven't looked back at the footage yet, but hopefully there is something in there I can use ... and hopefully I won't be overly critical watching myself.

Really, though, I think this kind of offered the opportunity for me to tell the band where I was coming from, which is really important to me. Since what we're about to go through together is a pretty big deal, and sure to be intense at points, it's a good idea if we know and trust each-other. The more time I spend with the Passionistas, the more fitting it seems that our collective stories have merged at this point in time. Something about it just seems right.

The "Will" episode I will try and do a little more experimental than the others. Episode 3.5 ("Andrew and the Sound Factory") will be up very soon. Oh, and God's Boat comes out a week from today!

It should be particularly interesting to see the cameras turned the other way. I'm looking forward to that podcast.

Thanks Barbara ... It certainly is something I am interested in - being self-reflexive about my role in all of this. Besides, I guess I kind of want to be a star too.
