Blogger was bugging out a little bit this weekend, so I mostly kept my distance and instead decided to get lost with Hillary in round after round of Karaoke Revolution Part. I found that Edwin McCain's "I'll Be" and Incubus's "Drive" are songs I can sing pretty well. Anyhow, I wanted to fill you in on the busy week I just had that was filled with activity of the rock variety.
As you know, the video podcasts are taking somewhat of a new direction - chronicling bands of a series of shorts, along with other supplemental interviews and performances. We started that process in motion this past week, as I first jaunted out to the East Bay to film the Pied Paupers at Blake's on Telegraph. Hop on over to their MySpace page to hear the gorgeous "Sugarplum."
On Thursday, I was back in the city to document the continuing adventures of the Passionistas. We've been doing all kinds of interviews and following the band around to bring you the first ongoing story in the N&UR Video Podcast series. It was my first time seeing the band live and they certainly brought a great energy to the Make Out Room. Kelley Stoltz (who produced the band's debut, God's Boat) was there - fresh off his European tour - and seemed rather excited about the sounds emitting from the quartet. I'm rather excited about this series and think this is really going to take the podcasts to another level. Plus, it's hard to really think who better to document at this time than the Passionistas. I blogged about them last week and you can read it here. And in case you missed it - the band is also droppin' on audio podcast which is rad as hell. Give it a listen.
On Friday night, I was at Bottom of the Hill chatting up Irving, who were rapping up a KCRW-sponsored tour with +/-. Look out for the edited version of that in the near future as well. After that interview, I needed some quality time with my baby - so I hopped in a cab and met up with her in the Richmond district, where we dined on Chinese food and then hit up some badass Japanese shops.
It may seem as though the podcast is on hiatus at the moment - but rest assured, when we return, we will be more focused and driven than before. Plus we'll be able to drop episodes more frequently. I'll probably have to move the Radio Hour onto a new feed - but hopefully you won't mind that. I'm really excited about the future of these video projects and I cannot wait for you to see them.

Awww I'm sorry I missed that show, and given how late Hot Chip started (after midnight) I have a feeling we could've hit both...
You do sound like you had a very rock n' roll week. But its good that its keeping you busy with projects you love to do.
I listened to the Passionistas podcast last week, it was pretty hilarious I must admit. Looking forward to seein the video podcast, I think its a smart route to take, and lets the audience become more invested.
Good luck editing!
You do keep busy, don't you?
You know that whatever direction you end up taking the video and audio podcasts, we'll be checking them out.
