Looking back at this week's blog, it would appear that I have not posted since Thursday - and that post was just three sentences. The post before that was called, "Finally Posting This Week." Well, we didn't go away - and, in fact, we were never too far from the computer. Finding the time to blog, however, proved to be somewhat difficult. The weather started to change next week, and that winter feeling really started to creep in. That usually brings about a melancholy feeling which I kind of like, but for some reason it had me in a bit of a depression. I cannot say why or what for, but something just felt a little off this past week. This weekend has just been lovely, however, and with lots of relaxing and television watching, I think that I have successfully crawled out my hole. That being said, except a return to the prolific blogging and podcasting I strive for. Hillary and I are planning to do another Radio Hour very, very soon.
The week was rather eventful - in spite of my depression. On Wednesday, I went to check out Jonah Matranga as part of the MySpace Hotel Cafe Tour. Despite my 9:45 arrival, I managed to somehow miss his performance. I did, however, get to speak a little with Matranga and hope that he will be a part of the video podcast series when it enters (what I am now calling) phase two. The next night, Hillary and I headed to the 12 Galaxies, where The Time Flys and the Magic Christian were playing as part of a series of shows curated by none other than Little Steven. Both bands will likely be subjects of future video podcasts, and much schmoozing took place to ensure such a possibility. The show was great as well - The Time Flys (a Birdman band, featuring Andy Jordan from the Cuts on guitar) sounded phenomenal. Imagine plucking a band from the late seventies and sticking them in the late fifties - that's how I could best sum up the Time Flys. The Magic Christian continue to sound tighter and stronger - this being the second time we've seen them.
On Friday, Hillary and I saw Sherry Baby starring Maggie Gylenhall in what would have to be her best performance yet. Appearing in every scene, she carried the film, which was a downer at points, yet ultimately uplifting without being preachy. Highly recommended.

Sorry to hear you've been feeling a bit down Will, and glad that you've had a good weekend to recouperate.
Soemetimes blogging has to take second place and I totally understand.
Take it easy mate.
I'm sorry to hear you were in a funk as well, Will. It sounds like you've put it behind you with your great activities and some quality tv and couch time. Sometimes you need to take time to regroup and sharpen the axe (to mix my metaphors). You know we'll always be here when you are ready to head back into the blogosphere.
Sorry to hear you were in a little funk. Sounds like you were able to recoup nicely though. Everyone needs some television loving now and again.
You're the third person who has said Sherry Baby is worth while, I'll have to look out for it.
Sorry to hear you've been down - hope you continue to feel better. Thanks for the recommendation, I'm a HUGE Maggie Gylenhaal fan, will have to look out for that.
