Today, "Herculean" - the debut single from the Good the Bad and the Queen - hits UK shelves. Stereogum posted the song some time back, but I wanted to wait until its official release to give it a listen. I've been anxiously awaiting something Damon Albarn-related since Demon Days finally got tiring, and this seems absolutely perfect. What started out as a Danger Mouse-produced solo record has since turned into a full-fledged supergroup with Paul Simonon (the Clash), Simon Tong (the Verve, Blur), and Tony Allen (Fela Kuti). As usual, Albarn has come out with something new, yet undeniably his own, mixing influences reflected not just on Demon Days but also on Blur's Think Tank. The georgeous melody is one of the finest we've heard from Albarn since the opening moments of "Ambulance," and we can only hope that this is just the beginning. If the album is just as good, I just may stop missing Blur.

How responsible of you to wait until the official release. I love Stereogum for the purpose of the early release.
I've been listening to this song for awhile now, it really draws you in.
That does sound pretty great, and Albarn's got quite the talent lined up. Could be an interesting collaboration.
Thanks for the video post, this rekindling my love of Damon Albarn.
Great song to chill out to!
Damon has a lot of talent.
I am so excited to hear more...
