I blame it on the fact that when Radiohead news hits or songs leak, every blogger is on it faster than I could ever be. I live in the West Coast and generally I am still asleep when the news breaks. Regardless there has been no shortage of Radiohead news as of late, including the details of Thom Yorke's first solo album, The Eraser. Yorke tells NME that the album compiles "stuff that I do when I'm bored," adding, "I wanted to work on my own. I just wanted to see what it would be like." Of course, Radiohead fans should have no fear, as the band is currently working on a follow-up to Hail to the Thief. Samples of old Radiohead material will be making their way on to The Eraser as well. Yorke says, "'And It Rained All Night' has this enormously shredded-up element of 'The Gloaming', not that you'd ever know...'Black Swan' has this tiny, shredded segment of something that was one of the library samples we had. It was Ed and Phil doing this thing, and I sliced it into bits. The sample was 2000, but the song was 2005."The Eraser arrives June 18.
For the latest in Yorke/Radiohead news, Rewriteable Content has been on it pretty well...
