N&UR Podcast Update

Last week, we launched the New and Used Records video podcast, which is available through iTunes, as well as Podomatic. In our first week, we've had over 100 subscribers according to the mathematicians over at Podomatic. I'm rather excited about the future of our podcast, and you can expect another towards the end of the month.

The second episode will feature San Francisco-based Birdman Records and their artist The Cuts. N&UR has been building a relationship with Birdman since I met president David Katznelson through director Meaghan Kimball. Seeing as how we plan to feature a number of their artists, introducing the label to our viewera seemed like a good idea as well. After chatting with Katznelson about the podcast, I went and checked out the Cuts when they were at Amoeba Records. Pretty much 10 seconds into their cover of Slaughter and the Dogs' "Situations," I knew they'd be perfect for the podcast. Their third record, From Here on Out is out now, and the band is currently on tour.

I have to extend a thank you to podcaster/blogger The Phoenix for passing along his podcast wisdom.

Thank you ... maybe we can have a Rewrieable Content/N&UR collaborative video sometime - with all that talent performing in your house.
