Brush with Fame of the Month- Mr. Kenny Rogers

You all may be wondering what happened to me (or maybe not...) I blogged a little and then not at all. Well, I will tell you- my office is closing and I've been laid off. I am staying until mid-June to help close things up and transition all of my work that I've done over the past nearly-two years. I really cared about my job and the organization I work/worked for and it is weird to be here but not really a part of the organization anymore. People are treating me strangely and I miss my friends who are already gone. All this self-pity aside, I am really thrilled and excited to be starting law school in August, full time. It all works out for the best for me in the end but I am ready for this weird work stuff to just be over. I'm hoping to be more active on the blog since I won't be working over the summer.

Now, on to more N&UR fun! I believe we mentioned a chance encounter that our beloved Will had with the force of nature that is Kenny Rogers. Not the eerie Kenny of today but Kenny in all of his 80's splendor. Enjoy the proof of the time Will played in a Hawaiian hotel pool with Kenny's offspring! His dad made sure to get a shot with Kenny in it. That's adorable young Will with the floaties.

Oh no ... embarassing childhood photo. There goes the mask of cool I've been wearing. Oh well, at least I got to meet Kenny Rogers. (Will begins singing): You got to know when to hold 'em....

I wish you all the best in law school, Hillary. There is a strange dynamic that takes over an office when someone is leaving. I've been feeling the same awkwardness in mine, which has been transformed into confusion because I am now staying.

Swim, Will, swim! You may have not have been cool, but you sure were cute!

Thanks, Barbara! You are so sweet. So, wait, you were leaving and now you have decided to stay?

Wasn't he just the cutest thing ever?

Yes, Hillary, in one of the odd twists, I found some funding to allow my job to continue. And after making all my exit plans! Argh!

I can empathize Hillary, having been through several similar experiences. Enjoy your summer and all the best with Law School!

Now- that picture. Awesome. Look how cool Will is. He doesn't give an Ef. He's way cooler than Kenny.

What do you think Kenny's kid is saying "Dad, please come in and play with me? It's the only time I see you all year!" Kenny- "No son, I can't mess up my DO, the ladies son..always remember the ladies."
Will's thought bubble " I know I shouldn't have taken off my left water wing..stay cool Will, stay cool."
