Continuing our trend of posting about every little detail regarding a potential Smashing Pumpkins reunion, a message has appeared on the band's website: It's official, The Smashing Pumpkins are currently writing songs for their upcoming album, their first since 2000. no release date has yet been set, but the band plans to begin recording this summer.No word yet on who will actually be playing alongside Mr. Corgan, though if this stock photo is any indication - it will be no one.

hahaha Billy can pull off the Pumpkin look single-handedly, perhaps he can do the same with the sound.
I'm looking forward to what they create. Even non-fans must admit that Corgan certainly knows how to pen excellent songs.
