Foxx could have been content being seen as a credible actor and bankable box office star, but he decided that it wasn't enough. So, he decided to try again in a field in which he had failed a decade earlier - music. His 1994 record Peep This was a flop, so this time around he asked hitmaker Kanye West to sit behind the boards. I love Kanye, but not even he can save this from being total crap. The R&B that Foxx is doing is not that of Usher, or Omarion, or anyone of today's chart-toppers. No, he seems nostalgic for that early '90s R&B - Bobby Brown, the first R. Kelly album, and anything that pops up on a compilation called Sweet Love that you can purchase through a 1-800 number. How else can you explain this: "Baby 1 plus 1 ain't 2 when you wit me/'C' ain't after 'A' and 'B' when you wit me/ It don't make sense right now but it will/ Later on when you see how I make you feel/ Regular ain't in my vocabulary/ When it comes to love makin neither is missionary/ Positions girl, pick one, better yet some/Never mind that we tryin all of them Soooo. . . . Baby not the usual tonight we gettin unpredictable." Contrary to the song's title, I could have probably predicted what Foxx's album would sound like.Of course, no R&B single is complete without a pointless rapper cameo, and who better than the rapper who many are suggesting should commit to acting full time - Ludacris - "I keeps it interestin/baby just take them clothes off/I'll be yo Tylenol/ just take me till you dose off/Wake you up in the middle of the night and take you to another world/You'll wake up in the mornin feelin like another girl." I hope that guest spot only cost you $0.35 Jamie, because Luda phoned that one in.
Blink and you might miss the pointless Eva Longoria cameos.

This is great: anything that pops up on a compilation called Sweet Love that you can purchase through a 1-800 number. I had the same sense about Foxx. I didn't know he had tried to be a singer earlier.
Isn't it funny how everyone wants to be a "rockstar" inside, even the biggest most recognized richest actors? It's like it's never enough. I don't think it helps one's credibility as a serious actor (since so many non serious actors are also branded singers, purse designers, etc.)but I don't think Foxx cares what I think.
I guess there's nothing as cool as being a rock star. Thus, it is worth risking your credibility in another career just for the shot at rock stardom. I once had dreams of being a rock star.
