Gilmore Girls Returns - Triumphantly

:::::SPOILER ALERT:::::

The following contains serious plot details from the episode "Bridesmaids Revisited"

I was starting to get a little worried. After having started off so strong, the Gilmore Girls' sixth season was beginning to take a turn for the worse. This had a lot to do with the fact that, for the first time in its history, the show was moving towards more focused drama, with little emphasis on the quirky supporting cast. Last night's episode, "Bridesmaids Revisited" was a welcome return to form, thanks in part to, the return of the supporting cast. Kirk and Babette were there, but the episode's highlights centered around Lane and the band. First, another brilliant cameo from Joel Gion, but my absolute favorite moment had to be Sebastian Bach's bat mitzvah band, with him singing "Hollaback Girl." It's moments like that that remind why I love this show so much. Hillary bit me shoulder when Zach proposed to Lane - it was a special moment. I don't know how many more seasons are in the works for this show, but Lane and the band are certainly deserving of their own spinoff. As for, the actual Gilmore girls, there was a much-needed break from the Luke-Lorelai drama, and it appears that Rory and Logan may finally be broken up for good. I certainly hope so. All of that upper upper upper class living Rory was doing - like driving a porsche! - was really getting ridiculous; I just hope we see Jess again real soon. Lastly, the Rory-Paris reunion at the end was wonderful, and I am again very excited about this show. (I didn't see the preview for next week).

Yes. I was totally floored by the proposal. I am not sure how I feel about Lane getting married since she's what, 22?

But her mom is so conservative and she does like Zach so she might approve. Lane's rock and roll wedding would be so sweet.

I was really worrying about the GG's. I love them SO much but yes, the super aristocratic Rory? Nuh uh. These people need a little struggle or it is not worth it. Rory drunk and without a home is much more endearing than Martha's Vineyard Rory.

I did think Lorelai was out of line criticizing GiGi SO relentlessly. Sure, Christopher sucks and I hate him but you don't trash a 3 year old and her dad's parenting in such a way.
